…But seriously, when the kids have left home, so can their parents—literally. There’s no rule to say they need to keep the house once the kids are grown and gone. The empty nesters can rent an RV and see parts of the country they hadn’t had time, energy or money to do with before when the kids were living at home. How cool would it be to drive an RV from somewhere in New York State straight to Alaska, going partially through Canada? Amazing!

Regarding “pay” that comes in several forms. You’ve made the list, checked it thrice and still missed something along the way. A sip cup, a Binky, or a lost shoe while your son’s snoozing in the stroller. No worries. Extras will happen and that’s where budgeting extra money—and time, remember?---come into play. Maybe you’ve packed one less pack of diapers and while on the gondola, your infant son goes through the last of the last. To the nearest store Daddy goes to get the right sized pack of diapers.

Apart from Euro Disney and grasping at straws to come up with fresh ideas to not take your wee ones to the Louvre or the Champs Ellyses—again!—if your kids are into sports, try a soccer vacation for them. Sports International sponsors a European trip in from Russia to Spain, since most of that geographic region loves soccer to the level of fanaticism.
