Visa to Australia

Need visa when
entering Australia. I am coming from canada :D

Visa to Australia

yes. As far as I know, you still
need a visa to enter Australia from Canada. Australia is pretty strict
on visas, food and seeds at the customs.

canada :DYou can try a Working Holiday Visa (valid
1 year), which allows you to work for periods up to 3 months in a row
in the same place.
Alternatively, you can get a tourist visa - up to one year altogether -
you'll have to show you have sufficient funds to pay for your expenses

For permanent or temporary residency, you can try a business skilled
visa, sponsored business visa, etc.

What's the charge like for ETA? If this visa can be purchase over the Internet, why do the Australian Govt impose such a restriction? Another way to generate revenue??

there are many things the australian government do that doesnt make sense... most of Australians don't know why. and how come the government have weird thinkings sometimes

for example. the most recent budget for australian is biased against lower income earnings, there is budget cuts on families; forcing housewives to go out and work (instead of taking care of their children), taxing less on the higher income earners...

in other words, there will be a bigger gap between rich and poor.
robin hood reverse..

Treasurer of australia is out of touch with the people. :?
he is the one who is imposing this new budget cuts....

(I'll eventually make it to France in a couple of weeks - sailing is one of the slowest ways of travelling I know... :)

ETA's free of charge, but when you are in Australia and want to renew/extend your visa you'll have to pay (about 200 AUD for 3 extra months although I'm not sure of the price).

200 AUD seems like alot,

200 AUD seems like alot, anyone know the conversion rate to USD? I know in the US ETA's are free, but I wasn't aware if they were free for all, or just US.
