talking about electric good in Japan we must mention Akihabara, for traveller please take note that there is 2 types of shop in here, one is for local comsumer and another type is for traveller, the difference was on the warranty.

I find goods sold in shop which intended for traveller are not so interesting as compare to those for local, latest model usually don't find it here. :)

Videogames are a lot cheaper in Japan and off course you may find games that you can't buy here yet. They also have a lot of interesting Mobile Phones. Too bad that it's all Japanese :P

I read some storys from a Hollander who lives in Akihabara: http://www.nozomi.nl It's verry cool to read, also a lot of pictures.

I mean that some games you find here in our stores, are already for one year in the Japanese stores. The phones are a lot cooler than the ones we know here. So much more possibiltys!!!

With China almost giving out same stuff as Japanese with much cheaper rates I dont think that now there is much novelty of Japanese gadgets and gizmos these days.

I really drool over the mobilephones they have in Japan. Really fantastic and with so many features with 4G technologies. But I really doubt if I would be able to use them over American bands. I have heard that they operate over different frequency bands.
