Has anyone been to Kauai lately? We used to own some properties off of Poipu Beach but have not been back there for close to 10 years. Used to go there many times a year and just wondering how it has been going.
It changed significantly after the last big hurricane and was still in a bit of rebuilding phase. A lot of the developments from the late 70s and early 80s were gone. Kind of curious as to what is there now, especially on the south side of the Island.
Dang I am going to have to get out a map. I don't even know where that is!

Remember the first time I went through the tunnel of trees going to Poipu... was pretty nice.
I was never into the surfing and actually prefered the protected surf. That was my biggest complaint awhile back. The beaches on the southshore used to be smooth white sand, but then the hurricane in the early 80s hit (I am trying to remember when it was), and it changed the beach dramatically and made the entire coastline very rocky. It used to be great being able to wade out a quarter mile out and still have nice soft sand everywhere.

Looks like there's more destinations to travel than I thought!~ :wink:
I would like to see some of the following; Kauai Heritage Center, Prince Kuhio Park and McBryde Garden. Also tryWailua River State Park, maybe I can learn to kayak! :)
Kauai
Maha'ulepu Beach is a very pleasant place to go on the south shore. It's not a place for surfers, but rather a place to go and relax as the beach is shielded from the waves.
