South Africa

There is an amazing history there, beautiful scenery, game parks are excellent it easy to get around with very good infrastructure and most people speak english so communication is easy. Sure its alot more western than other parts of Africa which may encounter less tourists but as in into it definitely has it all!

Good communications, plenty to see and do, not too remote but as remote as you want it to be!
Alternatively, take the plunge and immerse yourself in Africa and visit a few countries (it's very easy to do) and you will get a real flavour of what Africa has to offer. You can then choose YOUR personal favorite!

I think Tanzania is a good place to travel to for the first time in Africa. Don't ask me why but a lot of people in my region that go to Africa for the first time, go to Tanzania.
