Anybody has info on South Africa

hi there!
I was looking up the web last week and I checked out some of the rates of safaris in South Africa. What is an okay price for a trip like that, say per night how much is it going to cost per person?

The prices are very different. And I am confused. Are they the same things, but with just different prices?

Any advice on this is deeply appreciated :D

With regards to Safs they all vary. Depends on who you go through and where they think you're from! Doesn't take much to a supplier who can give you correct pricing.

Cape Town -----> Suncity, huge difference! There are some really good sites offering info for South Africa but many are target at people with little or no clue. Only the famous places have hit the map publicly but there is so much more.

Usually price does work out on between 50-100 USD per day all inclusive, if you try to get the cheapest stuff possible, but still all the activities like game drive etc... !

I've heard Krüger is not as cheap as it used to be. If you decide to get going, then buy a guidebook for the region you plan to visit and read further in there. Costs are mentioned! =)

Safari and Game Park

Shamwari is an all inclusive luxury safari that is really high end. Closest airport is Port Elizabeth. Is it within easy access to the Garden Route aswell. It is in the Eastern Cape. So if you are looking for high end safari have a look at Shamwari. The likes of Tiger Woods, Mel Gibson and Tom Cruise are a few who have been to Shamwari.

Check it out at - http://www.exclusively-african.com

You also have Pillansburg is close to Sun City so if you stay in Sun City Pillansburg is your closest game park. Sun City has the casino and other attractions - Valley of the Waves, Lost City, the famous golf course and on the doorstep of the game reserve.

Have fun !

My advice would be to book through the backpacker hostels. Even if you stay at a hotel the prices will be much cheaper, much more fun and most importantly more personal. Prices will vary slightly depending on where you want to go, when you want to go and how long for? Here is a link to the Backpacker Tourism South Africa (BTSA) website which has links to BTSA recognised companies offering safaris.

Hi madmonk,

Regarding your question about the prices you might have to pay for staying in South Africa, I would recommend you have a look at {url=http://www.hostelbookers.com/]HostelBookers[/url].

There you will find many hostels in South Africa.

Hope this helps,

Have a nice trip!!

Hello

I am planning to take a trip to Cape Town within the year, and from what I've researched it is pretty reasonable. Right now my cost is at $2600, which includes airfare, hotel, food, and recreation for two weeks. There are a few different safaris, depending on what part of the region you're in. The more famous one is right outside Johannesburg, and the flower gardens, scuba diving, and the Big Game Safari Tour. There's also the famous shark diving cages. Also, you can purchase a pass there at your hotel to receive vouchers for free admission to most of the attractions in Cape Town. Hope this helps.

Where exactly are you

Where exactly are you wanting to stay? Hostels are usually cheaper than hotels, but they also require (in my book) abit more care when traveling and locking up any belonging that you keep in the hostel when you are out on your day trip. It really depends what you want for your stay.
