A lot of people forget that they need loads of vaccinations when they are going to a tropical country like Senegal,... I heard that they are pretty expensive but certainly necessary! Any with more info on this?

Anytime you travel to a new country, be aware of your own country's vaccination list and the country you will be traveling to! I had a friend about 6 months ago, visit Capetown Africa, he has been there many times, but the last time he came back he got a cold that he fought for about 4 months in and out of the hospital with. Prevent is easier than cure sometimes. :)

Except that there is no vaccine for a cold. No such shot exists, nor will it, so prevention would not have been possible.
The best possible prevention is good health, which is not going to be achieved by being shot full of chemicals.
Besides which, vaccines fail. You are better off being healthy enough to recover and taking good care of yourself whilst away from home than putting blind faith in such things and then not being sensible.

I would hate to think of being that sick and being stuck somewhere far from home and my regular doctor.

Prevention is better than cure. I have heard that tthese tropical countries have a lot of diseases which should be taken care of by proper vaccination. Mosquito bites which are most common source of diseases can be well taken care of by vaccination.
