Also, I'm one of those folks who attract insects and bugs from a 1,000 mile radius LOL - so that probably eliminates quite a few places too!

It's an interesting question, though, because I do think that if you visit places with an open mind, an open heart and a willingness to adapt to the conditions, then you can probably find enjoyment in most countries.

You've got me on a soapbox now because I also think that some of the youngsters today in the wealthy west ought to have a year's social/voluntary work experience in some of the developing countries - rather like my German nephew is organising for himself at present. He has the choice of either being in the army for a year or doing social work - and he's hoping to do a year overseas on a project of some kind. Not sure where he's going to end up - but I am impressed that he's going into this with enthusiasm!

Well - I wonder what other thoughts this thread is going to spark!

Any place without a ton of bugs, they attack me as well. I think with what I have read about India with their misquote issue, that is somewhere I would not travel to right away. :)

I really don't think I would do too well in a couple of places. Africa due to the extreme heat, I don't do so well in hot weather. India for the misquotes I keep hearing about, I am really allergic and would not want to spend the remaining time of my vacation in a foreign hospital. The only other thing that pops to mind now is anywhere really cold, I would never be able to handle that either.

I really would not want to go to most third world countries, where a lot of families are too poor to afford food or water. When I go on a vacation, I do it to relax and get away from my problems.
