Random drug testing in Bali night clubs??

Well I'd assume as with any country by entering the country you and your luggage are likely going to go through some sort of customs inspection. Especially for drugs. From the articles I pulled from just googling 'random drug tests on tourists in Bali' It seems it is happening. Best bet? DON'T DO DRUGS! Pretty simple cure to a problem is to not break the law.

I don't think it's unreasonable for a country to uphold it's laws. Especially for illicit drugs.

Problem is too many people (ie americans) think the world is the same and they are just in Epcot Center. They don't realize other Sovreign countries have their own laws and rules that can be drastically different from the US.

I think it is always best to proceed as cautiously as possible when in an unfamiliar land.

I just can't imagine that people don't think that illicit drugs illegal in thier country would be for some reason legal everywhere else. There a few exceptions, but for the most part if a drug is illegal in the US, Australia, Canada or the UK it's illegal everywhere else.

I think locks can be broken

I think locks can be broken at any airport if you do not provide a key for when they are scanning them. As for the drug testing, this is really new to me. Has anyone been thru this?

As fotog said, the TSA if

As fotog said, the TSA if nothing else will smash your locks to search your case if they don't have the key. That means that unless you buy a lock approved by them then you may lose your lock. And even if you DO buy an approved lock they may smash it anyway if they claim that they 'don't have time' to locate the right key. Only difference is that this way you can claim the money back. You are at their mercy.

So what is the point in

So what is the point in spending extra on TSA locks? Just the fact that you can claim back your lost money, or what? And if they DO open your lock and then shut your case again, how do they know your case was messed with?
