Example: In the US I would prefer SW over NW (I hate going thru Detroit and their never ending construction at their airport hubs). SW can get me about anywhere I would need, they leave out of RDU (I am in SC, so thats about a 4-5hr drive for me, not bad at all), and go to where my 5yr old lives (PHX AZ) and also where my husbands family lives (CA).
If I am going overseas, into the UK, I would go on BA, since I have traveled with them as well. IF I were traveling w/o my children (odd, but possible) I would do Virgin Atlantic, since I still like to travel and be "young again". I can agree that EM is a good airline, when I was a travel agent, I worked with them quite a good deal, and met many reps. from their company (extremely polite people). But in the end, it depends on where you are going and what you want from your trip!
