:lol:This really depends on the location of the
tap. In some cities, tap water tastes like mud, in other it has a strong
chlorine taste, etc.

But the real difference, beyond taste, is the microbiological and
chemical content of the water. It can of course have an impact on the taste,
but it definately has an impact on your health. In doubt go for the
bottle!

haha. yeah, i travelled in nepal
where everybody was sticking to bottled water. even in the mountains..
well, they missed out on the natural water coming from the mountains.

It definitely tasted better than the bottled water :-)

Tap water is one thing

Tap water is one thing which should be avoided during any holiday. You can be sure of what the water contains, so better to go for expensive bottled water rather than risk your health for cheaper tap water. You'll end up being safe. And one more thing always go for bottled water of renowned brands rather than of local brands because they can be adultrated.

While I was in London, I had

While I was in London, I had the chance to learn that in most house holds, they do not rinse off the soap as we do in the US when doing dishes. There is nothing more nasty than tasting tap water and soap together on your utensils. I can deff. tell the difference between the two. I would avoid tap water in any country, here in the US in most city areas, you can taste the chlorine.

I myself stick to bottled

I myself stick to bottled water whenever I am on a trip to anypart of the world. But for exceptions I ws more on Beer than water when I was on trip to Germany coz it was cheap to get beer than water there ;). Tap water is the last resort to try if you cant find a clean water source to deal with on the trip.

whn you are on a tour always

whn you are on a tour always prefer to go by the bottled water. SInce it is always according to international standards and thus offers best promise of purity. Also make sure to have water of reknowned brands and avoid locals.

In the US I can, not sure

In the US I can, not sure about other places (maybe Mexico but thats a given). For me, tap water always seems a little chunky/metal tasting like. Bottled is better, but not nearly as pure as Spring Water (bottled myself) which I prefer best. :)

Yes, I can definitely taste

Yes, I can definitely taste the difference. The only place that I wouldn't find a difference are places like the Welsh mountains where the tap water IS spring water....a spring that has a pipe in it to collect the water for your house.
