I am not sure if I ever thought a video game could built around running a car wash. Sure running any business including car washing can be a bit of an adventure, forces one to make strategic decisions, and can have big payoffs. These are key elements an exciting game.
Someone did decided it was time to make a car wash game. Atari released automatic car wash Tycoon for the Playstation Sadly, the came captures none of what makes running a car was interesting and instead sounds like one of the least interesting games of all time. Here is the description by the publisher no less: Spa Town is a compact town containing a shopping area, light industrial units and a residential district as well as six carwashing sites.
There are a total of six possible car washing sites and six types of car in Spa Town and your aim is to establish which types of car prefer which sites, what price they are prepared to pay for car washing, which type of finance suits the business best and finally the most cost effective way of advertising your service.
