When you're traveling out of the country, no matter the destination, what are some things that you absolutely MUST take with you? I've never been out of country, so I have no idea.
Absolute musts
My camera I cannot be
My camera I cannot be without-I take it almost everywhere. Only time I leave it home is when I go grocery shopping ;) The other thing is my pillow. It has been around the world with me. No hotel pillow will ever comfort me to sleep and so I carry my own.
I try to keep things simple,
I try to keep things simple, if I can get away with purchasing something cheap when I'm traveling, and I can pitch it before I return the better, I really hate to be bogged down with tons to carry, esp. on short trips!
A current map, a working
A current map, a working cell phone, all my paperwork I have to have with me when traveling. Water, cigarettes and a snack too.
I never liked using
I never liked using disposable stuff, even on vacation. I guess I don't like wasting stuff.
I take little refillable bottles of stuff instead. My must would be a comfortable sleeping mat.
I personaly take my
I personaly take my comfortable clothes, a pair of binoculars my laptop and my PDA with me everytime I more out of my town. I try to travel as light as possible. Just some 3-4 pieces of apparel and I comfortably keep them in my laptop backpack.
I almost laughed at seeing
I almost laughed at seeing laptop being carried whilst travelling light till I saw that you carry everything in the laptop bag. That makes a lot of sense and must really help to simplify things for you.
Photos of my closest people
Photos of my closest people (usally a small book I have), a notepad for anything I want to jot down that sparks me, and always I take tissues with me. Sounds odd Im sure, but for some reason, no one ever has tissues when you really need them!
Tissues are a part of my
Tissues are a part of my first aid kit, because like you I found they always were needed when no one had any. I like that you carry photos as a must with you.
I have to have my cell phone
I have to have my cell phone and charger, of course. I also need to have my iPod and enough clothes for a week. I like to have my camera with me too. I don't need that much to survive.
Enough clothing to last the
Enough clothing to last the trip, example if I am going for a week (7 days), I will usually take 2 sets of jeans, 6 tops, afew dress up (depending if I go out or not), but I always bring extra socks! This is such a must, you never know when you might need a change of them. Otherwise, afew good books to read, a notepad (for anything I need to jot down), headphones, and some snacks for on the plane ride. Also, my cam - never go anywhere without that!
