Re: Take special care in learning the proper ritual for visiting
If you want to visit a temple and can't remember what the ritual is, I would suggest taking a tour. They always visit a temple. I have been to Asia a number of times and do a day tour as they are informative and you get a local guide.
They guides I have had are always characters with a great sense of humour. They take you to a temple where they know it very well and normally know the people inside.
They will also do the ritual so if you want to do the same you can or visit it another time on your own.
The steps above are great but if you forget your tour is a safe bet.
Have fun,
