This desert covers over 360,00 square miles. If anywhere would be a fun time to go dune riding, I think this would be the place. Take loads of water though - named from the Tswana word Keir, meaning the great thirst. :) There is sand and diamond mining here, but many feel the government is being "misguided".

I did some searching and found they have a Safari Camp in Botswana. While reading up, I found this one most interesting (Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park).
