What is the best American theme park?

While I Disneyworld and Disneyland may be the most popular amusement parks in the United States, I am wondering what else The U.S. has to offer.

I have been to Six Flags over Texas, as well as most Southern California amusement parks, if anybody would like a review.

What do the other states have to offer in terms of amusement parks?

Well ive been to Oaks

Well ive been to Oaks Amusement Park in Portland , Oregon, during a road trip. I would have to say its definetly a park for the kiddies. If you're looking for a thrilling coaster ride, this isn't the place. However, it does succeed at what it sets out to do which is to make a park that appeals to younger children. The small steel coaster Zoom is one of the better smaller coasters that I've been on. All in all, a fun place for the little ones and a leisurely way to spend the day for adults.

I've been to Oregon, but

I've been to Oregon, but have never heard of Oaks Amusement Park. It sounds like a great place to take children, after looking it up. It reminds me of Micke Grove Park and Zoo in Lodi, CA.

Opryland in Nashville, TN

Opryland in Nashville, TN used to be really fun when it was still open. I believe they sold most of their rides and equipment to the park in Birmingham, AL, but I could be mistaken. I also thought Hershey Park, in Hershey, PA was pretty fun. Of course, any time you're surrounded by the smell of chocolate, it's got to be good.

Great America Theme Parks

There are several Great America Theme Parks that would rival Disneyland anyday. Plus, they're generally enclosed, so you don't have to worry about getting over heated, rained on, or being too sticky from the humidity. I like the thought of having my fun in a controlled atmosphere. And, look ma, no sunburns!
