Power Outage

I've been to a couple parks that have actually had power outages while I was there! There were people stuck on roller coasters, some even stuck in dangerous positions (such as upside-down). This has happened twice while I was visiting Great America in California, and once at Six Flags Over Texas. Has this happened to anybody else?

I've never been at an

I've never been at an amusement part while the power has gone out, but I have been to some where rides have broke down and got stuck. I have also had the misfortune of seeing a roller coaster come off the track and hurt a lot of people.

The closest I ever came to

The closest I ever came to this was actually a small county carnival, where I had just gotten off a ride called the Zipper. The same little seated area I was in (blue #12) went flying off the ride, and crashed to the ground. Since then, I refuse to ever ride that again. I would completely freak out if the outage had happened to me and I was "stuck" somewhere for too long.

I would be one of the people

I would be one of the people freaking out if that happened. Not so much if the power just went out a little bit, more so if I were stuck on a never ending roller coaster or something. Maybe if there were sparks out of it too.

I have never seen it in

I have never seen it in person but was always horrified to read about it in the paper. This is the kind of thing that I always work hard to put out of my mind when I am about to step on a ride, but the more I read about it the more I get nervous.

I prefer the swirly rides

I prefer the swirly rides rather than coasters. I would be screaming at the top of my lungs stuck on a ride somewhere, esp. if the ride didnt stop the entire time!

That's part of the reason

That's part of the reason why I am not really a roller coaster type of person. I prefer to have both feet safe on the ground, without the risk of a power black out, thank you.
