Any out there besides me? I remember going to Washington DC for the first time when I was younger, and amazed at the statues, memorials, museums and everything in between. I love history to start with, and I have been trying to find a good place, with a ton of history that I could spend about a week at. I am in the SE states, so if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them!
Southern History
I am a big fan of historical destinations, with some entertainment mixed in. A great place to look into is Tunica Mississippi. It is set right on the Mississippi River and features numerous museums, public parks, and historical draw.
While Tunica offers the best in Vegas-Style, 24/7 gambling; the Mississippi river town is also steeped in history. Visit one of the local museums, or take a stroll through the Tunica River Park to drink in a little bit of the local flavor.
