I tried to do a quick search and these are my results:
Departure City: Baltimore, Maryland
Destination: Zurich, Switzerland
Dates: Fri, Jun 29 - Sun, Jul 1
I ended up getting the price from $1295, which is not bad for being last minute and during summer months!
I have been thinking this might be a place to add to my list of everywhere I want to go, so I did abit of research, somethings I have found out:
- The origin of the name is probably the Celtic word Turus, a corroborating reference to which was found on a tomb inscription dating from the Roman occupation in the 2nd century; the antique name of the town in its romanized form was Turicum.
- More than likely I would need to visit during Jul/Aug (warmest months)
- Fraumünster abbey of Zürich was founded in 853 by Louis the German for his daughter (can someone say shopping spree)
- St. Peter measures 28.5 feet in diameter (known to be the biggest clock face in Europe)
- Bahnhofstrasse, Zürich is one of the world's most expensive shopping avenues (wonder what I could buy there and for how much!)
Is it Switzerland I am
Is it Switzerland I am thinking of that has some type of yearly festival? I am not sure, I have been looking up a couple of places in the UK (like the running of bulls, Oktoberfest) but I swear I read something about Switzerland too. *confused*
