I want to go to Italy

My dad's family is from Sicily, Italy, and I would really like to go visit at some point in the future. Is there one time during the year that would be better to travel there than other times?

Depends what sort of

Depends what sort of experience you want to have. I'm guessing one with lots of sun? Then around july-august is a good time.

Early spring and autumn are the best times to visit Italy.

Like most of Western Europe, early spring and autumn are the best times to visit and travel around Italy. Northern Italy (Milan, Bologna, Verona and Venice) looks totally stunning in spring. Southern Italy has warm, dry weather with far fewer crowds in September. The best months to visit the cities of Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan, Verona, Bologna, Naples and the Amalfi Coast (in Southern Italy) are November or March.
