My dad's family is from Sicily, Italy, and I would really like to go visit at some point in the future. Is there one time during the year that would be better to travel there than other times?

Early spring and autumn are the best times to visit Italy.

Depends what sort of experience you want to have. I'm guessing one with lots of sun? Then around july-august is a good time.
