I have always been fascinated by cathedrals and churches. They often were started in one century and then finished in another. They're architecture is amazing, and mind-boggling. Of course, I would love to see the Sistine Chapel in person. I've seen so many photos of it, as well as tv documentaries and such, that I almost can see it with my eyes closed.
What are some of the other cathedrals and churches you'd like to see, and why?
I’ve also always liked
I’ve also always liked cathedrals and churches because they are not built just for convenience (like the most of buildings), but for something spiritual. My dream is to see the Cathedral de la Santa Creu i Santa Eulalia in Barcelona some day – just because I like it in the pictures. My favourite cathedral (from those I’ve already seen with my own eyes) is the Spas-na-Krovi Cathdral (it is also called the Saviour-on-the-Blood, or the Cathedral of the Resurrection): it is covered with much mosaics – actually pictures are laid out of mosaics, and it’s really amazing! I can’t believe human beings could have created such a marvel! There is some information about it here: http://www.hotels-of-saint-petersburg.com/petersburgs-cathedral-spas.html . And I’d really like to see some of ancient and not very famous European cathedrals (maybe somewhere in Scotland), even if they are almost dilapidated – I love everything ancient and having interesting history!
