We love to go camping, and have usually done the Primitive Camping - or "roughing it" style - in the past. Where are some of your favorite, out of the way places to go camping?

The closest we have come to roughing it has been sleeping in a tent together-that's me and my preschooler. We love being out there, but she is a little too young for the real thing yet, given that I am on my own. If our family was larger though I would love to.
I love to go camping, but

I love to go camping, but only to some extent. I like to have a tent, and I like to bring food. I guess we don't truly "rough it", but that's close as it will be for us. We don't go camping that much, usually just once or twice over the summer.
We mainly went camping in
We mainly went camping in the dark Peaks region of the Peak District. Whetton Mill was one of our favourite areas to pitch for the night, and several times I ended up there with various groups that I did outward bounds type activities with.
We were never truly roughing it though because we always took our own food. Is that what you meant?
