Where are the best hiking trails?
There are some great trails in the Santa Monica mountains. There is also camping there. The Santa Monica mountains has some spectacular views of the ocean too.

Have you ever tried the English Lake District? It is so compact but with so many fabulous hiking routes whether you want to go up high or just keep to low level. I went to Grizedale Forest and did a trail there and stayed at fantastic Lake District hotel near Grasmere where Wordsworth used to live.
