I have been staying in Switzerland (luzern) for a while. I love the Alps and picturesque view. I am just curious to find out why tourists travel to switzerland to do sports. in fact, there are other alternatives such as austria, germany and france in which the prices might be lower.

Could it be the prestige and status, scenery, price?

Also, which are the most popular sports in Switzerland? I am just thinking of skiiing because of the famous ski resorts like Zermatt, St Moritz, Titlis and Interlaken. Also, there is the famous 007 bungee jump, paragliding, handgliding, swiss ballooning etc!
